A Tribute to The Puss

Puss, aka Akaya, was an entertaining and sophisticated lady. She starred in at least ten of my short films, everything from Grandma Masely's Peanut Butter-Flavored Cooter Paste to a commercial for a man running for California Attorney General. We lived in numerous houses all over Los Angeles together, and she was one of my favorite brainstorming partners.

She passed away on April 1st, 2014 with the assistance of a kind veterinarian who came to our house and put her to sleep on the couch. While she was in pain (due to aggressive liver and spleen tumors), she felt loved and safe, in-between me and my girlfriend, and had none of the fear associated with a cold and foreign doctor's office.

We then buried her in the middle of a rainstorm, said some prayers, planted some flowers, and decided to make a tribute video.

This is for her and all the other shelter dogs with limitless potential...
